Over the last 45 years, the NOVA Foundation has supported thousands of high-achieving students and students in financial need. To celebrate that legacy, the NOVA Foundation is excited to announce the launch of two vital new scholarships to honor that commitment for years to come: the NOVA Foundation Merit-Based Scholarship and the NOVA Foundation Need-Based Scholarship.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of Jon and Heather Seeber, every dollar you donate will be matched up to $45,000 toward a total goal of $90,000 to endow these scholarships and support students in perpetuity.
These scholarships will provide life-changing opportunities for students like Angel Pino, a first-generation college student whose grit, gratitude, and perseverance turned ambition into achievement.
Meet Angel: A Future Leader Who Found His Wings at NOVA
Angel Pino grew up in Northern Virginia as the child of El Salvadoran immigrants. From a young age, he learned that opportunity doesn’t come easy—but it’s worth fighting for.
Through NOVA’s dual enrollment program, Angel completed seven college courses before graduating high school. At NOVA’s Woodbridge Campus, he re-launched the Phi Theta Kappa: International Honor Society chapter and became a campus leader while working multiple jobs to support his education.
Thanks to scholarships from the NOVA Foundation, Angel was able to ease his financial burdens and increase focus on achieving his academic goals. The result? Acceptance to multiple universities with full scholarships—and a bright future ahead at the University of Virginia.
“Without the support I received, it would have been much harder to get here,” Angel says. “Donor contributions really do change lives.”
