Stumpy was a cherry blossom tree that called the Tidal Basin in Washington, D.C. home for 25 years. Over time, Stumpy became hollowed out due to flooding and lost many of his branches. But he remained a fixture of the iconic annual bloom, and, defying the odds, blossomed with flowers every year. Living among iconic monuments and historic buildings, Stumpy stood out as a unique symbol of resilience.
For NOVA students whose educational journey is in bloom, resilience is crucial, as they navigate obstacles to achieve their academic goals. While I plan to cross the finish line during the Cherry Blossom 10 Mile this April, the NOVA Foundation works every day to help ensure that students cross the finish line in their academic journeys -- by providing scholarships and emergency funding that keep them in the race.
My goal is to raise $50 for the NOVA Foundation for every mile I run, for a total of $500 that will go directly to support NOVA students. Thank you for joining me!
